Come listen to my awkward introduction to the Opposable Thumbs Podcast where I try to keep my project a secret, while tampering my excitement to talk with Rob Ray and Taylor Hokanson by pretending to be able to talk smoothly about... stuff.
Each episode is spurred by a challenge given to them by a previous guest and everyone has two weeks to respond. The prompt for this week was "Fermentation"
My submission to an Opposable Thumbs Podcast challenge (for their 1 year anniversary)

For five years now Detroit Artist and Curator Alice V. Schneider has been plucking fruit right off the vine to delight and entice both artist and collector. This years fruit is both sour and succulent, juicy and M O I S T... it has the power to clean the filthiest of places and dirty up the cleanest of minds. Up until August 4th @ 3309 Caniff St., Hamtramck, MI 48212
Matt Town's film/painting series where paired up artists would present film(s) one week and painting(s) on another. I was paired with Lorena Espitia in the middle of a palindrome schedule and neither of us knew what the other would present.
On March 6th I showed "Drive Drumming" a 70-minute long film collaboration with Manuel Lima.
This was paired up with Lorena Espitia's spinning paintings for the 1-night exhibition. We traded places the following week, where Lorena screened her film and I showed the largest painting that could fit the space as well as a small painting only visible by walking behind the other painting. @ The Reef

I had previously brought my mechanisms to Detroit for the group show at Simone DeSousa Gallery, "A Paintings Show".
James Cornish was on trumpet and Yuri Popowycz played viola.

A group show where artists were given various photographs of derelict plots of land in Detroit. We were all asked to pick one and to render visual proposals that could help in re-imaginging a space made with the local community. The spot that intrigued me was a former Playground at Linwood & McGraw. I proposed embedding a labryinth pathway into the playground with only a tiled entrance visible from the street as well as a bike rack, and a set of swings. The work was displayed at the Annex Gallery.
